Gerard (Gerry) Canelli Jr is a highly experienced Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer with over 17 years of relevant experience. He is skilled in designing and coding automation test cases, with a strong software engineering background. Gerry has extensive experience in EMC Symmetrix data storage, including development and validation test cases. He is always eager to learn new technologies and ensure the best software quality possible. Gerry has hands-on experience in all areas of software automation development, including low-level functions such as SCSI commands write buffer/read buffer (3B/3C) and Persistent Reserve In/Out. He has also set up VMware Workstation with Linux Red Hat, which replaced Sun Sparc workstation equipment. Gerry applies strong software using formal design methodologies and tools in software design. He partners well with diverse teams located in Cork Ireland and within the US. Gerry has guided software automation groups in eliminating Sun Sparc machines to loading VMware Desktop with OpenSUSE Linux on Windows Laptop along with NFS setup, reducing hardware in the group. Currently, Gerry is working as a Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Fidelity. At EBSCO, he designed and maintained SOAPUI test cases that enhanced Search Service functionality, reducing errors and costs. He also participated in leading QA for moving SOAPUI testing from manual testing to be run nightly using Jenkins for sending out reports to the team. Gerry has a Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Brandeis University, a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University, and an Associate's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Massachusetts Bay Community College.
